Announcements

The Public Academy for Performing Arts is a public charter school that integrates a rigorous college preparatory curriculum with the performing arts and prepares students to pursue their passions and talents.

The Public Academy for Performing Arts will be a small, supportive educational community where students achieve high academic standards and pursue excellence in the performing arts.

In alignment with our focus theme, we are excited to have all middle school students enrolled in dance and music classes. At this time all schedule changes are completed. We wish all of our students a great new school year. Please be sure to check PowerSchool for grades and attendance updates. If you need help with your parent log-in call or email our registrar, Mrs. Lucero.

Every Friday show your school spirit by wearing anything with our school mascot, the panda, or a PAPA shirt. You can buy a school shirt or make your own d.i.y. spirit shirt.

Students driving to school are required to park in the west parking lot. The lot is secured at 8:30 every morning. If you need in or out of the lot or any accommodations call the front office at 505-830-3128. Students are not allowed to access the parking lot or vehicles during the school day. If you need something from your car come to the front office for an escort.

Breakfast and lunch are free for students thanks to the federal lunch program and the state of New Mexico. In accordance with national school lunch guidelines, we will not allow competing food, or outside food deliveries. Students may bring their own food from home or eat in the cafe’. We encourage all students to eat during lunchtime to fuel their brains for the full school day.

A growth mindset is a powerful tool for schools. Parents are invited to a workshop on August 14th at 3:30 pm in the Cafe’ studio to learn from Dr. Blake Brandes. Students will learn more about growth mindset at assemblies on August 16th and staff has a workshop on August 14th at 4:30 pm. You can order a book for Dr. Brandes to autograph while he is here. https://blakebrandes.com/product-category/books-school/
