3/24/2025 Announcements
Parents, please give staff 24 – 48 hours to respond to emails or phone calls. If you have not received an email or call back, please call the front office for further assistance. PAPA remains committed to the safety and well-being of all of our students. This includes the protection of student educational records, FERPA. We will never allow unscheduled guests to come to campus or pull out any student without explicit permission from the parent/guardian. Thank you for bringing your ID when you pick up your child early. Possession or distribution of tobacco products, e-cigarettes, nicotine liquid containers, alcohol, mood-altering substances, and illicit drugs in school buildings, school premises, and away from school grounds at school-sponsored activities is prohibited for all. This includes students, staff, and families. Please remember to drive slowly and obey all speed limits around the school, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. Even if you are running late, safety comes first—there is no need to speed. Additionally, please be mindful not to block neighborhood driveways when parking or waiting. Let’s work together to keep our school community safe and respectful. Thank you for your cooperation! Hello PAPA Middle Schoolers! We have a new lunch group called the “Bamboo Buddies” that will be happening every Monday and Tuesday in Ms. Padilla’s office during middle school lunch. This is a place to eat, chat, relax, play games, and make new friends. So bring your lunch, and we may have some snacks for you as well. See you there! We will be enjoying lunch outside and soaking up some vitamin D! After you eat, get your blood flowing by walking, throwing a football, shooting baskets, or even dancing. Remember, whenever the temperature is above 40°F, we’ll be eating lunch outside. Dress accordingly and make the most of the fresh air! We are now accepting nominations for the Dayana Diaz Award. To nominate please submit the application to Ms. Lopez. This means not putting stickers on it, not drawing on it, and being careful not to close any papers, books, or notebooks inside the Chromebook when you finish class. If you put items inside the Chromebook, it may leave a black line and damage the screen. Take time to put your Chromebook away in your backpack in its case before you leave class. Prom is on April 5th from 7:30 -10:00 PM at The View Event Center. Ticket sales are online only. Outside guest forms are due by March 31st. If you have any questions, please come and see Ms. Muniz in room 18. https://go.theprom.us/nighttimeingreecepapa If you are at least 16 years of age, will still be enrolled in high school next year, and are interested in applying for an internship at Sandia Labs, email Mrs. Walker at lwalker@paparts.org with “INTERNSHIP” as the subject, and she will send you the information. The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) announces the passage of Senate Bill (SB) 163, signed into law by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. Effective immediately, this law ensures that public school students who are members of federally recognized Indian nations, tribes, and pueblos have the right to wear tribal regalia, including culturally significant attire, jewelry, and accessories, at graduation ceremonies and school events. PAPA encourages students to celebrate their tribal heritage by wearing tribally significant footwear or other culturally meaningful items under their graduation gowns. Tribal regalia includes traditional dress and objects of religious or cultural significance, such as tribal symbols, jewelry, beading, and feathers. We are excited to celebrate our Class of 2025 seniors and invite students to personalize their graduation ceremony with these meaningful expressions of culture and identity. Students, Mrs. Lopez is asking for your input in a survey about Honor Roll. Please take a second to complete this quick survey. https://forms.gle/fPL1TRYx8KRRQBRB7 UNM School of Engineering Summer Programs The first program is for incoming high school freshmen and sophomores.
