Specific Scholarships, Grants, & Financial Aid
Apply for federal financial aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov. This is required for financial aid at most colleges.
The Best Buy @15 Scholarship program application is due February 15, 2009. 1,000 scholarships of $1,500 will be given to students with solid grades and volunteer/community service. Apply at www.bestbuy/scholarships or www.at15.com.
The New Mexico Coalition of School Administrators scholarship application is due February 16, 2009. This is a $2,000 scholarship for seniors considering a major related to education (teaching, counseling, business, HR, etc.).
The Sparx and Lorenzo Antonio Scholarship applications are due March 13, 2009. There are four scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 to benefit NM high school students planning to attend college next year. They favor performing artists — so this is your chance!
The Albuquerque Community Foundation has a number of scholarship and financial aid programs. Many of these programs have a March 3rd deadline. Information is available in the Student Aid Program section of their website, www.albuquerquefoundation.org/scholar/scholar.htm.
